MSN opens APIs to many of its products
I find it interesting that MSN is openingAPIs to their maps and other products.
I had created some VE apps…they had launched viavirtualearth.com, which I had used to create them…but now MSN has launched an API developer site to encompass more products.
Here are a few them listed here (go there to see more details):
- MSN Search (though paidcontent instead mentions their new search, start.com)
- MSN Virtual Earth (see above)
- MSN Messenger Activity API to connect with other messenger users
- MapPoint Web Service 4.0 which is currently only available commercially
MSN guy, Robert Scoble, has theories on why he thinks MSN is doing this.
