Siteseeing on Google Maps
There has been a lot of hype about area 51 missing from google maps lately. In looking it up, I came across the google siteseeing website which uses google maps to find everything from landmarks (such as the golden gate bridge, the gateway arch, and mount rushmore), Stadiums (for you sports fanatics), disneyworld, weird pictures due to different photo angles stitched together, and more.
Now that I finished siteseeing, maybe I can convince my wife we don’t have to spend all that money going on vacation with the kids. ![]()

More sightseeing: distribution of map searches for 6-Apr-2005, flickr’s submissions for Memory maps (where people annotate their memories onto the maps (i.e. “I grew up here, rode my bike there, went to school here, etc), interesting landmarks & places, and, my favorite, lots of landmarks and interesting pictures broken up by state.
